Falling for Blazers

One of my favorite items to wear during cold seasons is a well-tailored blazer. For outerwear I tend to wear neutral colors the most as I find them more versatile. I like a coat that matches most of my closet. Blazers are great for work and casual wear and easy to throw on during the rushed mornings, I like pairing them with a dress, formal pants or throw them over a sweater and jeans for a more polished casual look. This jacket from Zara is my latest addition to my growing blazer collection, here it is in a more affordable option. I wore it with a sweater dress from Forever 21, booties from Alias Mae and polka dot tights for a fun twist.

I like this plaid blazer because it is thick and the wool like material feels soft. I want something that will keep me warm during these brutal Chicago winters. I will say that I wish the waist was a little more cinched for my petite frame, but wearing something fitted underneath helps. A waist belt is a safe bet as well.

I usually choose plaid or check for my blazers, square patterns such as this one are fun as well but I find they make me look boxy. Tartan blazers are always a timeless classic as well.
